The joke goes that a mathematician is a machine for turning coffee into theorems. But, in fact, mathematicians run on a great variety of fuels, not all of them animal friendly. I don't think I deserve to be called a mathematician (yet!) but I promise all the math I produce is vegetarian!

... As you may have guessed, I'm vegetarian. I'm sympathetic to veganism, cook vegan, and have a mostly vegan diet, but its hard to avoid animal products altogether. Here's some other things I also identify as: Humanist, Atheist, Utilitarian, Feminist, and Hacker/Maker.

I don't drink, smoke, or use recreational drugs, though I don't have any objection to other people responsibly doing those things.

Math, science, and building things with the aforementioned are a very important part of my life and something I really find beautiful. I also enjoy walking in warm rain storms, gardening, and visiting botanical gardens. I used to be into mineral collection and am considering getting into bonsai.
